How Do I Shift My Christmas Weight - Part 1?
Whether it's the relentless string of Christmas parties you've been to, or the sheer volume of minced pies, stilton and Quality Streets you've been scoffing, some time very soon the Christmas tum is going to come a knockin, and shifting it isn't always easy.
Everyone experiences a degree of seasonal excess to some degree, usually on show just above the belt line or trying to burst through it, and getting rid of the excess weight is not always easy - but it is possible.
To help you prepare for the anticipated festive weight gain, or help with damage limitation, fitFAQS have come up with some golden tips on how to set you back on the straight and narrow and get you back into those jean's that fit you so perfectly back in the summer.
Loving those calories
This time of the year is heaven for the media and glossy magazines, all hell bent in conjuring up a new faddy diet and trying to convince us into buying a crappy book with the "secret of a slim waist."
New books, articles and features will go to any lengths to make us believe that there is an easy way to lose weight and keep it off but the fact that the nation is fatter than ever goes to show that books which sell this promise are a waste of money.
The reason why you have put on a few pounds over the festive period (or the whole of 2008) is simply down to the fact that you have eaten more calories than you have burned off. Its not rocket science. Your overhang is not down just down to the carbohydrate rich pasty on a minced pie, or the marzipan icing on the Christmas cake, its down to everything extra you been eating over the weeks and not done anything to burn it off.
No doubt, you'll see an array of books on sale suggesting you should "eat right for your body type" or try eating certain types of food at certain time of the day but the best way to shift the weight initially is to go back to basics.
