Which Model Of Treadmill Should I Buy?

Since the London marathon in April, i have recieved a number of emails asking what type of treadmill is the best value for money, where they can be purcahsed and how they can be used most effectively to lose a few pounds and get into shape (and perhaps consider taking on next years London Marathon).

As an all round piece of fitness equipment, a treadmill is very hard to beat in terms of what it can offer you to help you lose a few pounds and dramatically boost your fitness levels.

Although there is of course the risk that, despite good intentions, after a few weeks the treadmill serves you far better as somewhere to hang your washing, but provided you set yourself a realistic goal of using it for juts 20-30 minutes three times a week, you'll be amazed at how quickly the weight can drop off.

If you've been flirting with the idea of buying a treadmill, you're probably finding it a nightmare knowing which model to buy and what exactly you're paying for in the more expensive machines.

Ultimately, the best way to go about choosing a treadmill is to decide your budget. You can spend anything on treadmills from £200 to £10,000 all varying massively in quality and functionality but I have yet to find one person who has been happy with their purchase of a £200 model from Argos.
If you go cheap, you'll find that running on it very unstable, very unreliable and not an overly pleasant experience to run on, leaving you de-motivated to use it and very quickly you'll see your £200 as a complete waste of money.

My advice is to go middle of the road and see your purchase of a treadmill as an investment in your bid to lose a few pounds and improve your fitness levels. By choosing a model which is both sturdy and highly functional, you'll be far more inclined to use it regularly and stay motivated.

Personally, I'd recommend a known brand such as Life Fitness that can be bought at the forever reliable John Lewis. With a 3 year warranty and excellent customer service you can't really go wrong, so take a look at what they have to offer by clicking the link below.
