So, you think you've got what it takes to take on an endurance running event?
Whether you've been inspired by watching the London Marathon, Great North Run, British 10k or any other running event and think you've got what it takes to complete one of these challenges, why not run for a charity and rasie valuable funds for your efforts.
Running for a chairty could not be easier. Simply take a look at the list of chairties below and pick one which is close to your heart for personal reasons or one which you feel emotionally attached to. Spinal Research

Spinal Research, Marathon Consultancy's charity of the year, is one of the leading international charitable organizations in the field of spinal cord injury research. Over 40,000 people in the UK suffer paralysis as a result of an injury to the spinal cord, many due to traffic accidents and sports injuries.
Spinal Research is funding research into treatments to repair the spinal cord and restore sensation and movement to those paralysed by spinal cord damage.

The National Autistic Society
The National Autistic Society exists to champion the rights and interests of all people with autism and to ensure that they and their families receive quality services appropriate to their needs.

Centrepoint
Centrepoint is the national charity working to improve the lives of socially excluded homeless young people. It provides a range of accommodation based services, including emergency night shelters and short stay hostels, specialist projects for care leavers, ex-offenders, young single parents, foyers and supported flats and floating support services.

Multiple Sclerosis Trust

The MS Trust mission is to make a real difference for people with MS through the provision of information and professional education, by funding practical research and by campaigning for the improvement of MS services.
They work to the highest possible standards and actively seek opportunities to work with other organizations to provide real benefit for people with MS.
Seafarers UK

Seafarers UK aims to unite the maritime charity sector to address the specific needs of seafarers and their families. Seafarers UK is able to use its experience of working with the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy and fishing fleets to raise money and distribute it where it is needed. As an umbrella Seafarers UK can lead the sector in maximizing the effectiveness of its fundraising activities.
The PSP Association

The PSP Association was established in 1994 by Brigadier Michael Koe and his wife Sara, after she was diagnosed as having PSP. The three main objectives of the PSP Association are to:
- Promote and sponsor research worldwide into the cause, effective treatment and eventual cure of PSP
- Provide information and support for families afflicted by this disease across Europe
- Engender awareness, particularly amongst relevant medical professionals, of PSP and of the Association, mainly within the UK.
Traidcraft

Their mission is to fight poverty through trade, practicing and promoting approaches to trade that help poor people in developing countries transform their lives.
Traidcraft fights poverty through a wide range of trade related activities and they are the UK's leading fair trade organization.

MACS
MACS was formed in 1993, by a group of parents, all of whom had children with microphthalmia (small formed eyes), anophthalmia (no eyes) and coloboma (sight problems). They specialize in providing family support and a range of related services.
Like Victa, they provide excellent support for runners and are a great chairty to run for.

British Red Cross
The work of the The British Red Cross is well documented. Just some of their work includes:
- Across the UK, they respond to all kinds of emergencies, from major incidents to transport accidents, evacuations, floods and fires.
- They train more than 150,000 first aiders every year to cope with emergencies both at work and in the home, and provide first aid cover at hundreds of public events.
- They work worldwide to restore and maintain contact between those separated by conflict or disaster.
